摘要

This paper investigates the interaction between two passes on the final residual stress state of a surface machined by turning. The interaction between a roughing and a finishing operation are concerned as well as between two finishing operations. The work combines an experimental campaign applied on a 15-5PH martensitic stainless steel and numerical simulations thanks to the "3D hybrid method" developed previously. It has been shown that an interaction may exist only if the depth of cut is smaller than the affected layer of the previous cut. Additionally, in this context, the influence of the initial stress field is of secondary importance compared to the signature of the final turning operation. Finally it has been shown that, below a critical depth of cut, the thickness of the affected layer is significantly decreased and the residual stress field becomes more positive (tension).
