The UK National Annexes to BS EN 1993-2, BS EN 1993-1-11, AND BS EN 1993-1-12

The National Annex to the Eurocodes is permitted to provide the country specific data and guidance to a number of clauses in Eurocodes which are termed as Nationally Determined Parameters or the NDPs. This paper gives background information including the bases on which the Nationally Determined parameters for the National Annexes to BS EN 1993-2, BS EN 1993-1-11 and BS EN 1993-1-12 were determined. In the UK, the Nationally Determined Parameters have been chosen such that the reliability of structures determined using the rules in the Eurocodes and these NDPs is roughly equivalent to that obtained using BS 5400.
