Cultural Impact Analysis of Chinese Corporate Governance Model

摘要

As an institutional arrangement,corporate governance is rooted in its corresponding social and cultural environment. Cultural environments in different countries vary; corporate governance models are also diverse. Cultural differences are an important factor to lead diversity of corporate governance model. By applying Hofstede's theoretical framework for cultural differences dimensions, this paper analyzes cultural roots of Anglo-American and Germany-Japan corporate governance models and focuses on cultural adaptation of China's current corporate governance model. It is concluded that the selection and construction of Chinese corporate governance models should emphasize compatibility with culture.
