摘要

The most immediate route of exposure to potentially harmful chemicals is through the air that we breathe. Understanding the dispersion patterns of airborne contaminants has been of interest to researchers and practitioners in the fields of occupational health, building ventilation design, environmental health and urban planning. Legislation, directives,.and industry standards ensure that on average the exposure risks are at a minimum. The design of mechanical ventilation systems combined with natural ventilation in industrial workplaces is crucial for the control and removal of airborne contaminants. Many workers assessing ventilation design showed that ventilation efficiency varied across a room space. This variation was attributed to differences in the rates of airflow and degree of turbulence across a room.
