Nuclear magnetic resonance, dielectric relaxation spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, and water-sorption isotherm data are presented to demonstrate a wide range of molecular mobilities observed for water molecules present in solid active pharmaceutical ingredients and water molecules coexisting with pharmaceutical excipients.
