An Importance Measure approach to System level Condition Monitoring of Ship Machinery Systems

摘要

In order to make condition monitoring a more effective tool for managing the correct operation of a ship, we envisage the need for integrating condition monitoring into a more comprehensive risk-based framework. In this framework, the online health assessment of individual components is integrated with system level failure models, such as a Fault Tree, in order to predict the system level reliability. Consequently, Importance Measures can be used to evaluate the criticality of components and rank them on the basis of this measure. This information can then be used to support decision making in the context of maintenance as well as in regulatory matters.
