The system (1) has a capturing system (3) arranged at a level of access to a preset zone (2). A computer system (4) is connected to the system (3) and is provided with a digital processing software. The software processes images taken by the system (3) for identifying a ship (5) by recognition of its shape and its registration. A wired or wireless connection (10) is between the system (3) and the system (4).
