Kneepads are a key piece of personal protective equipment for many workers, not least of which are soldiers in combat. The US Military is buying tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of kneepads every year as a key part of soldier equipment, and yet, surprisingly, this is one of the few pieces of PPE that has no standards test methods or standards of performance to indicate if what is being bought is protecting the soldier.
