ON THE IMPACT OF COMMUNITY STRUCTURE ONSELF-ORGANIZING LEXICAL NETWORKS

This paper presents a simulation model of self-organizing lexical networks. Its starting point isthe notion of an association game in which the impact of varying community models is studiedon the emergence of lexical networks. The paper reports on experiments whose results are inaccordance with findings in the framework of the naming game. This is done by means of amultilevel network model in which the correlation of social and of linguistic networks is studied.
