The Impact of Strategic Orientation and Environmental Regulation on Green Innovation in SMEs

摘要

This paper aims to present the role and impact of strategic orientation and environmental regulation on green innovation in both products and processes in SMEs. SMEs can be categorized as either prospectors or defenders facing with environmental regulation. Firm's decision to adopt "green" technology is linked with its strategic orientation. Prospector-type SMEs are tend to deploy new product development or process practices compared with defender-type firms under stringent environmental regulation.
