On Irrationality and Transcendency of Infinite Sums of Rational Numbers

In this survey paper we consider infinite sums P ncn:EQ11711, ni(-1)n Q(n),nnP(iN(2)(n) where P(x),Q(x) E Z[X]. We give conditions under which such asum is irrational and under which it is transcendental.
