Engineering Capacity Building Program is being undertaken in Ethiopia as part of the reform of engineering education to serve priority needs of the nation. Among others, the reform aims to introduce e-Learning in the Faculty of Technology, Addis Ababa University with the objectives of improving the quality of education within the Faculty and also with a mission of enhancing the outreach of knowledge to regional Universities. A number of simultaneous activities were undertaken by the ECBP together with an e-Learning task force established in the Faculty. The author of this paper is a member of the e-Learning task force and has managed to develop and implement a pilot e-Learning course. The course was designed in blended learning style with a combination of face-to-face, WBT, and CBT formats. The paper discusses lessons learnt in the process of developing the pilot e-Learning course.
