The air pollution is harmful to health, life, work and economy. One effective way of improving indoor air quality (IAQ) is the filter and adsorption technology. As a kind of natural air filter and adsorption material, wool fiber can filter and adsorb harmful gas. To study the potential of wool fiber on improvement of IAQ, the experiment on adsorbing formaldehyde and creating anion are carried on. The result indicates that wool have good property of adsorbing formaldehyde with low concentration. The degradation ratios of wool fabric and the fiber are 74%, 69.3%, respectively. The emission measure of anion is over 5 000/cm<'3>. The relevant mechanism is analyzed and confirmed, certain foundation for develolping natural filter and adsorption material and improving IAQ by using wool fiber is established.
