PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the removal of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in accordance with an indoor environment of a building.;SOLUTION: An indoor air purification system has a measuring device 10a for measuring the concentration of a VOC in indoor air, a user terminal 10 for sending the VOC concentration input from the measuring device to an indoor air purification condition decision terminal via communication lines, and the indoor air purification condition decision terminal 20 that has a safety guideline storage means for holding safety standard concentration information about every VOC and a plant information storage means for holding VOC-specific removal capacity information about highly functional ornamental foliage plants, and that compares the VOC concentration received from the user terminal with the corresponding safety standard concentration in the safety guideline storage means to calculate a percentage of the VOC concentration to be reduced, extracts types of highly functional ornamental foliage plants having a volatile compound removal capacity from the plant information storage means and calculates amounts of highly functional ornamental foliage plants according to the calculated concentration percentage, and decides an installation pattern holding the types and amounts of highly functional ornamental foliage plants and layout information about installation regions.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
