Storage of soil data had, in the past been done in archives. Many partitions are created during the process of archiving to reflect the different layers of stored database. The archive system is not a proper system of documentation because of its inherent problems such as the incompatibility of soil data semantics, inadequate documentation to facilitate soil data in case of coding and decoding, improper indexing of soil data, hence it is pretty difficult to efficiently access large data base, vulnerability of soil data to destruction through water, insect, fungi and inferno. Consequently, information on soil are very difficult to retrieve, hence modification and update of soil data becomes very difficult. A computer aided system for anlaysing the features of soil classification and comparative studies of their features have been developed and listed in this research work. This system is composed of three modules, namely: soil classification module, transaction module and report module. The soil classification module captures data on various classification systems, while transaction module models the technique for retrieving information from the captured data. The module makes the result of transactions available to the user. Thus, the system provides a framework for the extraction of soil data from an existing database for analysis and modeling. This further allows the soil scientists and other soil users to check the result of soil identification. The system developed has the capability of presenting a given soil and its corresponding features.
