Understanding fluid dynamics and heat transfer has been one of the major advances of mathematics, physics and engineering. Single- and multiphase flow technology is increasingly important in the energy and manufacturing industries. Heat transfer is of particular interest to engineers, who attempt to understand and control the flow of heat through the use of heat exchangers or thermal insulation, and other devices. But not only that: we are all immersed in the universe where the internal energy is changing here and there and in every second – everyone who deals with natural science is aware of the necessity of understanding the processes present there.
