The paper presents the Romanian contributions to the application of mathematics in music. We identified five main directions of interference of mathematics with music: the principle of symmetry, fractals, mathematical linguistics, topology and the poly-modular time and algebra. All these theories were applied in the creation of the Romanian composers and received a great international success.
