By analyzing the deformation feature of the ternary boride cermet cladding material under extension load, basing on the equivalent theory of having the same use effect, the equivalent elastic modulus of the cermet cladding material is defined. According to the definition, by analyzing the extension deformation of the interface of ternary boride cermet cladding material, the theoretical relation model of the equivalent elastic modulus of the cladding material with the elastic moduli of the materials of clad layer and steel substrate and with the cladding thickness is established. At the same time, the experimental study of the equivalent elastic modulus of the cladding material of 5Cr2Ni08C/Q235 is carried out with extension tests. The experimental results coincide with theoretical ones. Both results show that the equivalent elastic modulus of the ternary boride cermet cladding material increases with the increase of the cladding thickness. Basing on reliability theory, further research on random distribution law of the equivalent elastic modulus of the ternary boride cermet cladding material of 5Cr2Ni08C/Q235 is carried out for a certain cladding thickness.
