摘要

The basic idea of a Compound -Gear is weight reduction, Due to the lower density of plastic a compound gear can achieve a weight reduction of 30% compared to a standard steel gear. In addition to that the dynamic behaviour of a transmission can be influenced by the use of Compound -Gears. The damping of the polymer material is used to increase the damping factor of the transmission. In order to design a decent compound gear some simulation has to be done. Based on that a first prototype of a compound gear is produced and tested. The testing method is described and the results are shown.
