Unusual Self-Similar Compression

摘要

Efficient gas compression is a very interesting issue. We study a family of self-similar spherical implosions involving high compression rate. This family corresponds to the classical solution initiated by a strong shock followed, after a particular characteristic line, by a centered beam of characteristic curves.
