In recent decades, bulk ultrafine grained metallic materials have been intensively studied because of their excellent mechanical properties. Many researchers have studied the effect of deformation conditions, i.e., strain, strain rate and deformation temperature, on grain refinement mechanisms, but it is still unclear which parameter determines the grain size.
