摘要

High sensitivity of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) detection is of vital importance. SPR system sensitivity is determined by its structure and relative characteristics, as well as performance of photoelectric detector. Based on light intensity and phase detection, detailed dependency of system sensitivity and resolution on photoelectric detector was analyzed. Results showed that a charge coupled device (CCD) with a larger number of pixels is potential to achieve a higher detection resolution, but accompanied with a lower throughput in array detection. Theoretically, based on intensity detection, a 1024×768 CCD can realize 4x200, 2x200 and 1×200 array detection with resolutions of 1.8×10"7 RIU 4.6x10'8 RIU and 1.3xl0"8 R1U respectively [1]; based on phase detection, an identical CCD can realize 40×200, 20×200 and 10x200 array detection with resolutions of l.lxlO"6RIU, 6.8×10"7RIU and4.0×l0"7 RIU respectively.
