THE CHANGES IN ATTITUDE OF STUDENTS FOLLOWING LASER SAFETY TRAINING

The joint Public Health England (PHE) and Loughborough University Laser Safety Management training courses have been running for over 25 years. On each course, a pre-course and post-course questionnaire containing thirteen questions is completed by each delegate to measure their attitude to laser safety and to evaluate effectiveness of training. Results for the past 10 years have been analysed. Five questions from the original thirteen have been discussed in detail from two individual courses at the two time extremes, 2004 and 2014. Comparisons in this paper look not only at the pre- and post-training responses of the 2004 and 2014 courses, but the change in attitude to laser safety over the last decade.
