At the dawn of the 21st century we live in a world plagued by her inhabitants. Increased consumption, depletion, contamination, pollution, and waste have led to the current fragile state of the planet. Financial pursuits have created wider economic gaps between those who have the knowledge and the ability to address environmental issues and those who do not. An increasing need for environmental awareness and sustainable principles is apparent not only in higher educational settings, but also at the individual and community level.
