Liquid-phase synthesis of precursor fine particles of Y_2O_3:Eu from homogeneous aqueous solution using urea as a precipitant generator with an without addition of colloidal nucleus-particles was investigated. Spherical monodispersed fine particles of the submicron order were formed from the homogeneous solution of 0.01 mol/dm~3 YCl_3 and EuCl_3. By using nucleus-particles, the particle size changed from about 500nm to 1000nm. Calcined particles showed fluorescence property of 611nm, which was peculiar for Y_2O_3:Eu phosphor.
