In concluding our brief remarks, we wish to address a few thoughts to the memory of Umberto Maria Grassano, who left us a few months before this meeting, after a long illness. He was the Chairman of the Italian group for condensed matter (GNSM) and played a key role in obtaining financial support, in order to make this meeting possible. Grassano will always be remembered, beyond his friends and former pupils, by the condensed matter community at large, and his example as an untiring researcher, a dedicated teacher and an inspirational personality will be followed in the years to come.
