Uranium dioxide's (UO-2) electrochemical behavior has been well characterized in aqueous solutions. Several publications list redox potentials of uranium compound, but there is sparse data for behavior of UO-2 in an organic solvent. Cyclic voltammetry and impedance spectroscopy experiments were performed on a porous electrode consisting of UO-2, graphite, and PDVF in various solutions of lithium salts and organic solvents (Propylene carbonate, ethylene carbonate, etc.). The goal of this project is identify the optimal salt and solvent combination for a battery consisting of a UO-2 cathode and a lithium compound anode.
