We investigated the influence of electrodeposition conditions to the laterally-enhanced growth from a patterned electrode onto a SiO_2 surface modified with organic molecules. After modifying the SiO_2 surface with polyamidoamine (PAMAM) or self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of aminopropyl-triethoxysilane (APTES), electrodeposition was carried out toward lateral direction on the SiO_2 surface. In order to investigate the influence of the coverage of the organic molecules, the different coverage of APTES-SAMs on the SiO_2 were prepared, and it was suggested that Au ions adsorbed at APTES-SAMs enhance the lateral growth. It was also confirmed that condition of the laterally-enhanced growth, such as thickness and morphology, was changed in accordance with the change in the applied potential and the concentration of Au ions in the bath.
