Research in polymeric biomaterials has made tremendous progress in recent years due to their unlimited potentials to treat human diseases. Significant effort has been devoted to develop nanocarriers for drug delivery since it offers a suitable means of delivering drugs by either localized or targeted delivery to the tissue of interest. Among them, poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(ε-caprolactone) (PEG-PCL) can self-assemble into polymeric nanoparticles characterized by a core-shell architecture in aqueous systems, in which a segregated core of associated hydrophobic segments (PCL) is surrounded by a hydrophilic and sterically stabilized shell (PEG), which was used as drug carriers with a therapeutic agent of interest protein, peptide, and nucleic acids drugs extensively.
