Regarding the adsorption of proteins from solution to a solid surface a lot of studies have been done in the past decades to improve systems implemented at organic-inorganic interfaces. One desire is to create protein resistant surfaces in the field of biocompatible materials, but also the possibility of controlled loading/unloading of polymer layers with proteins for drug delivery or sensor applications has been investigated.
