Validation of a Functional Trivalent Chromium Plating Process

A patent-pending trivalent chromium (Cr~(+3)) plating process is being validated, using a commercial part at a commercial plating facility. This process uses a charge-modulated electric field to overcome previous problems encountered in plating thick layers of trivalent chromium. The project is being jointly funded by the AESF Research Program and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
