Realization of >10-m-long chirped fiber Bragg gratings

摘要

It is now possible to produce quality long-length phase-continuous fiber Bragg gratings of any desired length. We have fabricated FBGs of lengths in excess of 10 m. These gratings may have sufficient quality to compensate for group velocity dispersion in optical telecommunications systems. This method is directly applicable to high-volume manufacturing.
