COST SAVING INITIATIVES - BODDINGTON GOLD MINE

BGM commenced operations with grades in the mid 3 g/t range and is approaching the completion of operations at grades about 0.8 g/t, grades which were dispatched to low grade dumps at the commencement of operation. It is expected the present mining operation will cease in the last quarter of 2001, the end of a gold mine in which its people responded to the challenge of a falling gold price and diminishing ore supply.
