摘要

The majority of patients that had suffered from ARS after the Chernobyl accident had pathological changes in eye tissues and different diseases that lead to break of eye functions and to disablement (in the case of non-operated cataract and serious impair of visual acuity). This may be considered as radiation long term consequences. Medical (cataract operation) and social (professional reorientation, pensions) rehabilitation is a particular part for ophthalmologic patients treatment. In the treatment of radiation cataracts of 3, 4 and 5 degree of severity a surgical operation applied. If expressed macular degeneration had occurred operations for choroid vascularization were used. The eye pathologies detected in these patients 10 years after the radiation exposure following the Chernobyl accident dictates to continue the examination of these individuals in the future.
