Residual stresses and Young-Modulus of alumina and chromia plasma sprayed deposits

摘要

Number of methods is currently used for modification of surfaces of engineering products, such as thermal spraying. Thermally deposited ceramics are used mainly for thermal and wear protection. Properties of the thermally sprayed deposits influence their engineering applicability and these properties are controlled by many factors, mainly by deposit microstructure. Presence of different types of defects in the deposit microstructure considerably influences mechanical properties which are the main interest of engineers.
