To improve fuel economy for diesel engines, study of turbo charging was conducted with the engine performance simulation. It was clarified with this simulation that the two-stage turbocharger can improve the efficiency of turbo charging, increase Lambda, decrease pumping loss, and therefore can reduce the fuel consumption.
