The on-board calibration system of a scanning radiometer enables to calibrate it against two reference points on the scale of noise temperatures, namely, the noise temperature of an on-board wide-aperture noise source(OWNS). The on-board calibration system consists of the reflector of cold space, the reflector system of hot calibration incorporating a parabolic reflector with offset focus and the OWNS.
