Barrier width dependence of coherent optical phonon oscillations in GaAs/GaAs multiple quantum wells

We report on the coherent optical phonon oscillations and their coupling to carriers in GaAs/AlGaAs multiple quantum wells with varying barrier widths. As has been shown recently [1], the development of the screened LO phonon mode is a goodindication of the growth-direction, longitudinal plasmon-phonon coupling.
