摘要

In today's complex Metrology, we are using a rational system of units and also getting deeply involved in laboratories automation systems, all of this, because we should meet the requirements of the international standardization. Furthermore, it is necessary to use an international vocabulary of terms in metrology, to manage the worldwide measurements. This document presents the Systems of Units that some ancient societies of Mexico and Central America, used before Columbus arrived to this continent. Here, we present the Maya, Nahua and Aztec cultures, as an example of the complexity and accuracy of their units of measurement, and how closely they are to our twentieth-century system.
