The curing conditions (such as temperature and time) and material properties such as the TCE (thermal coefficient of expansion), T{sub}g (glass transition temperature), storage modulus, tangent delta (tan δ), and moisture absorption of two different epoxy materials from two different vendors are measured. Emphasis is placed on specimen preparations, experimental procedures, and data analyses. The methods and results presented herein should be useful for evaluating epoxies for fiber-optic transceiver applications.
