摘要

The physics of metal plasticity suggests that elastic deformations of the atomic lattice are not directly connected to macroscopic material line elements in either the reference or present configurations. This paper reviews a new microstructural model of large deformation viscoplasticity that is consistent with this physical notion and it discusses the relationship of this new model with other models.
