Lymphatic tissues were examined from the animals flown on Russian Cosmos orbiting satellites and on NASA shuttle flights. nearly all of the previous studies on lymphatic tissues and peripheral blood lymphocytes took place after recovery. All of the results support the conclusion that marked, but temporary, retrogressive changes took place in thymus, spleen, lymph node and peripheral blood lymphocytes on return to Earth's normal gravitational field (1G). The retrogressive changes noted by Russian and Americal investigators were a transient loss of lymphatic tissue cells and atrophy.
