Mathematical models are essential for effective design of waveenergy converters, and hence to achieve economic viability andindustrial feasibility. Despite the fact that the wave energy fieldis at least 45 years old, there is still a clear lack of standard-ization of modelling techniques and a large amount of room forincreasing confidence in hydrodynamic models. The CCP-WSIproject aims to define a level playing field of comparison for aplurality of models, evaluating their performance. This paperimplements a computationally convenient approach to representnonlinear Froude-Krylov forces, along with the inclusion of non-linear kinematics.
