A collaborative Virtual Reality System (VRS) web-application with X3D interactive visualizationhas been developed for the Multi-stage Response-function Transport RAPID CodeSystem. The software, VRS-RAPID, is accessible via laptops and smartphones. It featuresintuitive and fast input preparation; on-the-fly simulation of nuclear systems using RAPID;3D and 2D graphics and immersive visualization of RAPID outputs; nuclear inspectionand detection capabilities; and possibility for a collaborative virtual environment. VRSRAPIDprovides an excellent capability for research, systems analysis and optimization,and training of students and professionals. Although developed for coupling with thenuclear code system RAPID, the VRS can be adapted to the modeling and simulationof any other computational tool and physics. VRS-RAPID capibilities are demonstratedusing two different models: spent nuclear fuel cask and the JSI TRIGA Mark-II reactor.
