Named Contributions to MMS: Bridging History and Terminology

Mechanism and Machine Science (MMS) contributed for thousands of years to our society with the discovery and invention of machines, machine elements and mechanisms. Many such contributions have been attributed to others rather than to their originators, while the authors of other notable contributions have been forgotten. In this paper it is proposed to restore priorities, to acknowledge multiple contributions, and to name of the more recent contributions after their originators, as a means of attracting younger generations to engineering.
