Magic has always exerted a special fascination on the human being. Currently, there may not be a more representative figure of this fascination than the character of Harry Potter. The adventures of the young wizard, which unfold over seven novels, describe his transformation from a child to a young adult. Millions of readers of the same age were not only spellbound by his magic, but were reflected in his daily problems. For many students who are currently in high school, Harry Potter belongs to their daily lives. This article shows a way through which the interest in Harry Potter can be used so that the students are interested in chemical issues by means of a presentation in which several experiments, that simulate some spells of the novels, are carried out. In addition, experiences of this activity in some schools in Germany are reported.
