The Medicine degree (MD)at the Universitat Jaume I (Castellon, Spain), initiated from the academicyear 2011-2012, has been revised recently to adapt some strategies and teaching approaches. After adeep appraisal of the collected experience, the main conclusion is that something is not working as itwas expected, as the scientific method roadmap in three first academic years. However, organizingand optimizing the roadmap between three subjects is not enough to guarantee the new strategysuccess. This academic project needs to include a third dimension to be complete: an integrativeapproach. We found that the Project-Based Learning (PBL)strategy is the appropriate approach toreach this goal. We present a specific design to implement the Project-Based Learning in the Medicinedegree composed by three parts: (1)the proposal of the Spiral Implementation Model for PBL (SIMPBL)in the PMA degree as a systemic approach;;(2)the generation of instances of SIM-PBL taking afew subjects of the first semesters and substantiating the PBL life-cycle principles;;and (3)to engage aspecific PBL life-cycle to implement the scientific method inside of the ordinary degree life-cycle in thenext academic year. It will be an excellent opportunity to obtain valuable results in order to decide theviability of the strategic proposal based on PBL.
