The paper is a study based on the Grankit project funded by the European Commission (under KA3ICT/ GRUNDTVIG Multilateral) as it has been implemented by Euroed Foundation, Iasi, Romania. TheGrundtvig Multilateral Project helps address one of the world's greatest challenges: the ageing of thepopulation, which brings about changes in society and family structures. The project raises the issueof 'being an active citizen' regardless of the age or the role in society by exploring the relationshipsbetween generations (grandparents and grandchildren), encouraging solidarity between these groupsand promoting strategies for ensuring that the ageing can be positive and dynamic. The articleanalyses the implementation of these generous ideas by presenting the innovative courses andproducts that provide accessibility to learning for a group of adults, who otherwise would not engage inlifelong learning (senior citizens-grandparents). The article highlights the intergenerational learningopportunities and exchanges provided by the project. Grandparents have been trained to acquirebasic ICT skills and use social network groups (such as Facebook) by their grandchildren. In their turngrandparents are supported to set up a “Grands Help Desk” on the internet, which provides onlinesupport to children and teenagers (help with homework, personal or family problems, bullying etc.).
