In this work, the effect of SeO_2 concentrations on coloration in glass containing gold nanoparticle (AuNP) have been investigated in self-striking process. The glass samples were prepared in composition (63.97-x)SiO_2 : 15Na_2O :10CaO : 10K_2O : 0.5Sb_2O_3 : 0.5SnO_2: 0.03AuNP : xSeO_2 (where x is 0.000, 0.001, 0.002, 0.003, 0.004 and 0.005 wt%). The glasses were fabricated by conventional melt-quench technique at 1500°C in normal atmosphere. Purple-and red-tinted specimens were immediately obtained by the process. The absortion spectra and CIE L*a*b* color coordinate calculation were consistent with the color of the obtained glasses.
