The evaluation and refinement of a shaft rotational frequency is an important task of vibration diagnostics of rotary equipment. As is known, the informative features of defects strongly depend on the rotational speed of the shaft. For a correct assessment of the technical condition of engineering products, it is necessary to develop an algorithm for specifying the rotational speed of the shaft, operating over a wide range of frequencies under various operating conditions of the equipment. In this research, the present approaches to the estimation of the shaft rotational frequency were analyzed. Frequency refinement algorithms operating in the frequency and time domains were proposed. The effectiveness of the developed methods was verified on the vibration signals taken from a real industrial equipment. The results of this work can be successfully applied for the vibration diagnostics of rotary equipment of various complexity.
